Two large dealerships in GM’s network, Boucher Buick GMC and GMC of Riverfront Park were looking to grow car sales & increase conversion growth despite current economic uncertainty during Q1 2026. Their trusted agency Mudd evaluated both dealerships and uncovered that these stores were operating with complex, fragmented account structures that included multiple campaigns split across Make/Model, Brand, and Conquest strategies. For example, GMC of Riverfront Park was previously managing six different campaigns. Mudd Advertising identified that this traditional, manual structure created account friction, performance losses, and sought to prove that simplifying the setup, while adding AI Max, could yield more conversions and a lower cost-per-acquisition (CPA).

Structural Optimization: Keywords and match types were streamlined into tightly themed ad groups focused on Brand, Defense, and Make/Model categories. Automation Integration: Following a 14-day learning period, the full AI Max suite was deployed, utilizing URL Expansion and Text Customization to align landing pages with user intent.
The consolidated, AI-driven campaigns outperformed the original manual baseline for both dealerships: Boucher Buick GMC: Achieved a +190% lift in total conversions while driving a 65% lower CPA. Most notably, during the month of their test, Boucher Buick GMC saw their highest sales month ever, becoming the 1st and 2nd Best dealerships in Wisconsin for Buick & GMC sales.GMC of Riverfront Park: Experienced a +153% lift in conversions alongside a 63% decrease in CPA. Incremental Value: Through optimized and expanded reach (via AI Max expanded matches and landing page matches), AI Max helped drive 11% more incremental conversions for Boucher GMC and 15% more incremental conversions for Riverfront Park GMC.
