Video Editor

VIDEO EDITOR

The main objective of the Video Editor is to manage audio and video content used to produce TV spots and web videos as well as general audio/video production. The Video Editor works closely with writers, producers, audio editors, graphic artists, animators and videographers to assemble creative elements in order to produce video content. The Video Editor is responsible for completing projects on time and delivering content to the appropriate parties.

Job Duties

Video Editing

  • Edit video based off of approved script and soundtrack
  • Work closely with production team
  • Work with the writer, producer, client services to produce the spot in a timely manner
  • Assist with other tasks and projects outside of regular editing duties as needed such as audio editing and graphic production.
  • Keep work areas clean and keep software and hardware in working order

Communication

  • Track all assigned editing projects in ERP and prioritize jobs on a regular basis
  • Ensure that essential information is communicated
  • Communicate to other editors of workflow and switch projects when necessary
  • Enter any time worked on projects in company timesheets
  • Maintain regular communication with supervisor, informing and discussing pertinent issues in a timely manner

Knowledge/Requirements

  • Video production background or college degree in related field
  • Video editing software – Final Cut Pro, Premier, Motion Graphic – After Effects, Motion
  • Graphics and Motion Graphics – Photoshop, AfterEffects and Motion
  • Network Storage – Final Cut Server, Server Storage – file/network association
  • Video Compression and FTP
  • Color correction, Vector Scopes, Waveform Monitors, UV Meters and NTSC Standards
