My Internship Experience

By Ian Todd

When most hear the word internship they immediately jump to the thought of running errands, picking up coffee and taking on the work that no one else wants to do. Mudd has definitely put this ideology to rest. There is the occasional coffee run on a Friday afternoon, but who doesn’t like to treat themselves to Starbucks every now and again. Interning at Mudd has been a great experience and I have really felt apart of the hardworking team here at Mudd from the workload to the respect and kindness that the employees treat you with. I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better place to intern. I have really been able to see how an agency works together to complement each department from sales to marketing to production, which was the ultimate goal of being an intern. Each day has been an adventure whether it is designing things for the marketing department, helping with social media aspects or helping out with the filming of a new client pitch. Not only have I gotten to experience each aspect of the agency, but the wonderful people in the marketing department have given me some big projects that have really allowed me to not only test the waters to see if designing is what I want to do for the rest of my life, but have also bettered my design skills exponentially. I have been trusted to work on multiple projects designing things like email blasts, billboards and even a wrap for a t-shirt gatling gun for actual clients, experience most interns could only dream of getting. My experience as an intern has been unbelievable and I would highly recommend Mudd to anyone who is looking for an internship whether it is in the marketing department or another department of Mudd. I am so thankful for the opportunity to work for such an amazing company and I would like to extend my deepest gratitude to Jim Mudd Jr., Chris Mudd and the rest of the staff at Mudd for the opportunity and for showing me such kindness. Interning at Mudd is an experience that will stick with me forever and one that has definitely helped to prepare me for life after college. I can only hope my future adventures in the advertising world are as wonderful as the adventure I have had here at Mudd.     Ian Todd
