Employee Profile – Tracy Haswell

How long have you worked at Mudd? Since December of 2010

What did you do prior to working at Mudd? Went to school and before that worked at Electrolux in Webster City

What are your favorite 3 things about working at Mudd? The people, Gung Ho meetings, and of course – Taco Tuesdays!!

How many siblings do you have, and where do you fall in your family? I have an older brother and a younger sister.

Funny story from your childhood: When I was about 10 a friend and I went for a long walk, but were joking around with my friend’s mom that we were running away (just joking). We packed a couple little backpacks with snacks and went walking around our VERY long block (equal to about a square gravel mile in Iowa). We stopped at the little convenience store about halfway into our walk. The lady at the counter asked us how we were doing and what we were up to. And because we were 10 and didn’t really stop to think that not everyone was in on the joke, told her we were running away. About a half mile down the road from the convenience store we saw a police car drive by and then turn around. He stopped and said he was taking us home because someone had reported we were runaways! Long story short that was the first and ONLY time I’ve ridden in the back of a police car. My friend’s mom laughed at us, but my dad wasn’t in on the joke either, so he wasn’t laughing when the police hauled me home.

Do you have any unique talents? I can turn my eyelids inside-out…is that talent?

Who is someone that you don’t see on a daily basis, yet they inspire you?  Why? My Grandma who is 89, blind, still lives by herself, and NEVER complains that she can’t do something. She is so happy and upbeat and can REALLY tell a story!! She is amazing!!

If you’re in need of inspiration, what do you do? Think of my Grandma

What is one of your hobbies?  The only one I have really (don’t know if it’s a hobby or obsession) is collecting Barbie Dolls.

  • What do you like about it? There are so many different characters and styles!!
  • How long ago did you start this hobby? Mid 90’s
  • How did your interest in it begin? I love the movie Gone With the Wind, and there were Gone With the Wind Barbies I just had to have!
  • How often do you engage in this hobby? I used to get a lot more than I do now. Now I get at least 2 per year – 1 Holiday Barbie and 1 Halloween Barbie. Sometimes a couple more depending on what I see out there.
  • Other insightful facts you can share: I have over 100 – I have to keep getting new shelves for them.

If someone wants to make you smile, they’ll: Ask me if I want to “hear something funny.”  Smile and say hi.

What’s a gift you’ve received that you’ll never forget? The biggest teddy bear EVER. At the time it was about the same height I was!!

When was the last time you laughed so hard you cried?  Who were you with? A little while back, maybe around Christmas or so, I was with my co-workers. Case of someone saying one thing and I heard something completely different!!

One way you clear your mind is to: sit down and relax, because I never get a chance to

What is a goal or two you have for the next year? To get all the flower beds in my yard looking GREAT! Remodel my kitchen or bathroom, not sure which yet. They both need it!!

What is your dream car? Candy apple red 1967 Camaro Convertible
